Move It

Not only do we see a lot of furniture moving daily, we help folks get hooked up with moving trucks via our connections as a Uhaul dealer. The average cost of an in state move in the US is $1700, and interstate is $5600. Our advice is usually to sell what you have, move what you can’t get anywhere else, or what is very personal, and get what you need where you are going. $5600 at a place like an auction can usually buy a lot of nice furnishings if you are smart.

Our guys move the equal of three households each week, again, on average. We very quickly get houses and apartments emptied of saleable items, at such a speed that   makes it very worthwhile considering we charge a modest fee. Tonight we sold 537 lots, were were done at 9:40, starting at 6:30 on the dot. 2.8 items per minute, yes we move it! We don’t physically move items during the week that fast, but a lot of people realize there is value in speed like that.

We also do our best to convey items to buyers on auction night, sequestering large groups for volume buyers in areas they can get to in short order, sometimes even loading items into vehicles strategically placed.

With all that motion buyers are encouraged to move it as well, slowly pondering whether or not to bid will most like lose the bid, decide ahead of time, and keep a bid card handy, and you will do well and get the stuff you want.

It’s a good and simple rule that works well at auctions; he who hesitates is lost, and losing a bid means you won’t get that one of a kind Paisley owl lamp and end table combo.
